and I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, combat
veteran and mental Wellness Advocate Serving the states of Alabama and Mississippi. I specialize in a wide range of topics to include anxiety, depression, Trauma, Couples & Families,
Spirituality and Social and Racial Trauma. Therapy looks different for everyone, and no one’s healing journey will be the same. I use various forms of client-centered therapeutic approaches
and cognitive behavioral therapy techniques to engage with clients during the healing process. Providing therapy is not just a job for me, it is personal. When I returned home from Afghanistan, I was faced with so many mental health challenges and had no clue on what to call them because I couldn’t verbalize what I was feeling and didn’t understand why.
My healing did not come over night. It took work, persistence, a solid support system and THERAPY. I realize that many of us are struggling with our mental health and often times are unable to put a name to
what we are feeling. Therapy hits different when your therapist is able to understand your struggles, speak your lingo and provide non-judgmental support in a way to make you feel accepted and valued.
The journey of self-exploration and becoming mentally whole can be scary
and intimidating; but it is not one that you have to walk alone. Mental Health has been and still is, a Taboo subject in our community. I am committed to erasing the stigma of Mental health and
working to normalize therapy so that all can experience mental wellness and stability.
