Before I ever became a therapist, I was a woman trying to make sense of emotions I didn't have words for.
I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, combat veteran, mental wellness advocate, and published author who serves individuals, couples, and families across Alabama and Mississippi. I’ve had the honor of writing mental health articles for Brainz Magazine and appearing on the television series Fatal Attraction, but at my core, I am simply someone who believes people deserve a safe place to be human. My passion for this work was shaped by my own journey. After returning home from Afghanistan, I struggled with mental health challenges I didn’t yet have language for. I knew something didn’t feel right, but I couldn’t name it. My healing didn’t happen overnight. It took support, self-reflection, faith, community, and therapy. That experience changed how I show up for the people I serve — with honesty, compassion, and real understanding.
I specialize in supporting individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, relationship challenges, spirituality, and social and racial trauma. I use client-centered therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy techniques, but more importantly, I meet people where they are. Therapy looks different for everyone, and your healing journey deserves to be honored, not rushed or forced into a box.
I believe therapy hits different when you feel understood — when you don’t have to code switch, explain your culture, or shrink your experiences to be accepted. My goal is to create a space where you feel seen, heard, valued, and safe enough to do the real work of healing.
Mental health has been a taboo subject in many of our communities for far too long. I am committed to helping break that stigma and normalize therapy so people can experience emotional wellness, stability, and peace. The journey toward becoming mentally whole can feel overwhelming and even scary at times — but it is not one you have to walk alone.

A certified life coach, purpose-driven leader, and proud founder of Designed by Micki. With a deep-rooted passion for helping people step into their God-given potential, my life’s work has always centered on one mission: connecting people to their true purpose. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Cultural and Leadership Studies from the University of Mobile, where I developed a strong foundation in understanding people, community, and the power of intentional leadership. I later earned my certification in life coaching, allowing me to blend compassion, wisdom, and strategy to help others navigate life with clarity and confidence.
Over the years, I’ve served in various leadership roles, including as a supervisor within the Mobile County Public School System, where I supported staff, students, and families through transitions, challenges, and growth. My experiences in education, leadership, and life have shaped my unique coaching style — one that is both nurturing and empowering.
Designed by Micki was created as a space for transformation — where individuals can explore their identity, rediscover their “why,” and design a life that aligns with their purpose. Whether I’m coaching one-on-one, leading workshops, or speaking to groups, I bring authenticity, encouragement, and practical tools to every encounter.
My goal is simple: to help you live a life that feels true to who you are — on purpose, with purpose.
